When you are considering purchasing a backhoe, you may be confounded by the number of options available. The main difference between PTO and tractor mounted backhoes is how it draws its power. A PTO backhoe draws its power from a self-contained hydraulic pump and tank. While each type of backhoe has its advantages and disadvantages, many backhoe operators prefer the PTO models. Because the PTO models draw its own power, it always puts out just the right amount of hydraulic oil flow and hydraulic pressure. This regulated oil flow and pressure helps to ensure that the backhoe performs consistently and well each time you use it.
